Debbie is related to Dianna Tahbo, Mark Tahbo, and Dorothy Ami. She learned the art of pottery making from her cousin, Diana.

She has take first place in a handful of juried competitions throughout the Southwest for her clean and distinct classic Hopi pottery. Many of her designs feature birds or bird feathers.
