James was born into the Corn
Clan at Santa Clara Pueblo in 1959 and is the son of Virginia
Ebelacker, brother of Richard Ebelacker and the father of Sarena
and Jamelyn Ebelacker. He is the grandson of Margaret Tafoya
and the great-grandson of Sera Fina.
In spite of serving 20 years
in the Air Force, he has been a productive and successful potter.
Taught by his mother, James has won many awards at Indian Market
including a “Best of Division”. His favorite designs
include the avanyu and bear paws, and he often makes larger pots.
James is included in museum and private collections.
